Rights, definitions

Natural rights: Rights, freedoms and privileges which are such a basic part of human nature.

Right of revolution: In political philosophy, the right of revolution (or right of rebellion) is a right or duty, variously stated throughout history.

Social contract: an implicit agreement among people that results in the organization of society; individual surrenders liberty in return for protection

Popular sovereignty: A doctrine, held chiefly by the opponents of the abolitionists, that the people living in a territory should be free of federal interference in determining domestic policy, esp. with respect to slavery.

Self-determination is defined as free choice of one’s own acts without external compulsion; and especially as the freedom of the people.
